Rating: - Excellent EP
The Washed Up EP by Catch 22 is a great cd, especially for the price. For $4.99 you get 4 songs(actually more, but I'll get into that in a bit) that make this album worthwhile. It all kicks off with Leaving, which is an awesome song with great lyrics and nice music. Next up is Hard to Impress, which is so good, that it even made it over to C22's new album, Alone in a Crowd. Next is their awesome cover of American Pie, which is equal parts ska, punk, and even hardcore. Next up is the final track, called The Death of My Blood is Your Indulgence, but this song is just a joke as there are no real lyrics. Now you may think this is the end of the album but if you fast foward until the 15 minute point or so, you'll get 3 awesome bonus tracks which are live versions of 3 of their best songs. First is On and On and On which is done awesome, followed by an altered version of Kristina She Don't Know I Exist. The song is done hardcore style, and excludes the solos of almost every instrument, but it is still awesome. The album then closes with an awesome live performance of 9mm and a 3 Piece Suit. It's done super fast and so awesome. All in all, pick up this album, you won't regret it, especially for the value.
Rating: - different but good
washed up! is sweet! it's not as good as keasbey nights but i still love it. even though it only has four songs it has 3 live bonous songs at the end, but you have to hit the search button for a pretty long time after the 4th song. Leaving is one of the best songs i've ever heard by catch 22, it mixes outstanding trumpet play with some hardcore gutitar. hard to impress is also amazing. it mixes different but cool trumpet play also with some really hardcore gutitar. the cover of american pie is the best version i've ever heard! that song shows you how much talent they really have. Get washed up! or you'll be missing out!
Rating: - Better Than Ever
With a more punkish style than before, this EP is a good example of what Catch 22 is like live and what they will be from now on. They're not as ska as before but the ska is definitely still there. The fourth song is a play on hardcore stuff, don't take it seriously. The first three songs are so good. American Pie is awesome live. At a show I talked to Jeff, the lead singer, and he said that a lot of these CD's got screwed up so that's why u have to wait so long (16:00) to get to the secret songs. Also, they cut off near the end of the third secret song. Anyway, this band is so cool. I hope to God they never sell out, because then everone would sweat them so much. After a show at St. Andrew's (College Park, MD) they just walked around the place like they were part of the crowd > so cool. Blink 182 would probably have body guards or something, the sellouts. Anyway, buy this. It's awesome. Their next CD comes out OCTOBER!

i've always been a fan of catch 22 (especially since one member comes from my town) and Washed Up ...although different still had catch 22 quality so any fan of catch 22 be sure you get this
Rating: - A bit less than Keasbey Nights
I realize that Catch 22 will have a slightly different sound now that their lead singer and guitarist have been replaced, but what makes them special is still there. Still has fast, inventive horn melodies. As some of the previous reviewers have mentioned, I miss the soft, acoustic guitar found in Keasbey Nights. The new guitars are good, but it's one step more toward other dime a dozen punk band guitars. The songs are still first rate, though I miss Tomas a bit. The live songs at the end are fantastic, and the cover of American Pie is great. Overall, a bargain, and a must-have of fans of the first album.
