Rating: - Great book...I think
I just thought I'd let future customers know that this book has some of the same questions as the second edition, not all though, so I think it's worth the investment. I have both and have found both to be helpful. I haven't used the CDs because I acquired the books from friends who lost the CDs, but the books are great. I haven't taken the test yet, but highly recommend these books from my experience so far.
Rating: - Highly recommended
I got this book after my classmates recommended it after passing the exam. This book helped me to pass the exam because it offers numerous practice exams, which offer questions and multiple answers that are framed just as the real exam questions are. It offers a practice exam to help you focus just on populations too. The questions are challenging enough, but not overly difficult as I have seen in other practice exam materials. For every question there are rationales explaining the right and wrong answers. It was very helpful and I recommend taking these practice exams shortly before the test.
Rating: - Great review book--Got me prepared for NBCOT!
This book was great. Its 5 practice exams really mimicked the actual test, and the reasoning behind right/wrong responses was logical and on-target. This book was great preparation for the exam.
Rating: - Worked for me!
I thought this book was fantastic. I also bought the review study guide from the NBCOT website. I have a MAC computer and the CD that came with that book was not compatible with my computer. So I purchased this book so that I could practice taking the test by hand. I did not use the CD that came with this book either. The book was great! I first read & studied the book from the NBCOT website and then I moved to using this book to test my knowledge. When I took the real exam I felt that this book had really prepared me b/c the questions asked were similar in content and syntax. Someone said in a previous review that the 4th exam in this book had pulled questions from tests 1-3. That's true but it was probably less than 5 questions and in a 200 question exam I don't think skews the results enough to matter. Highly recommend!
Rating: - SAME or DIFFERENT questions from the 2nd Ed.??
I hope someone can answer my question before I buy this book. I have the 2nd Edition, the one from 2001, that is the same authors, Caryn Johnson, etc. Does this 3rd edition have the SAME or DIFFERENT questions as the 2nd edition. If they are the same, I am not buying the 3rd one.
