- Do not buy!
I am very disappointed with this book. It focuses on the wrong information for the CSET and has so many typos that it can be hard to understand at times. I used the book for the first subtest, and it contained too much information that wasn't even on the test! I had to rely on the knowledge I already had and what I had studied from the CSET website. The practice tests that come with the book also have typos and can be hard to understand as well. This book made me feel greatly unprepared for the CSET, and I refuse to use it for the other subtests. My suggestion is to research the guidelines for the CSET at its website and then find another book that has relevant information that pertains to what will be on the test.

I took only the CSET Mult II section so far. Before i took it, i read science section briefly and did the practice test. Although i passed it on my first try, i was so disapointed that none of the questions from study guide helped me. But the CD is good to have it because it shows the score and you get the idea of how well you did it. I don't know how's other section but I am getting new study guides for section I &III.

There should be a freaken support group for people who are going to take the CSET. Seriously. There just isn't any study guide out there that really, trully helps in a focused, realistic, effective way.
I'm studying this damn book's history section and I'm about ready to kill myself. It's so damn unfocused and jumps from one thing to another and then comes back to what it was talking about like ten pages later. I'm pretty damn sure this was written in about five minutes and just slapped together to be sold. I hate the writer of the history section. I really hate them.

i only used this book for the cset and i passes all sections on the first try. i did find some errors in the math section but other than that this book was great.

When I first purchased this book, it seemed so much more comprehensive with it's study material then its counterparts. However, when I started to study for the Subtest I (History and English), I realized there was an overabundance of useless information clogging its pages. In addition, I noticed there was no info on WWI or WWII which I thought was a bit strange, but of course figured it would not be on the exam. WRONG! I just took the test on Sept 16th, 2006 (only Subtest I) and felt not that I was underprepared, but I was prepared for a completely different test. Basically, I might have well not studied, because I had to depend on recollecting my history from over ten years ago. Also, I don't know if all exams are this way, but the english section focused primarily on linguistics rather than literature. I spoke to other people at the exam site that had the exact same experience with this book as well as the Cliff study guide. Bottom line: I don't think there is a good enough study guide for this exam on the market yet. Friends have given me the advice of getting the "Everything your 4th, 5th, and 6th grader need to know" books. Good luck!
