Editorial Review: Neil Diamond is an American legend. He is one of the finest and most successful songwriters of the last forty years as well as being a multi-platinum selling recording artist and one of the most dynamic and consummate live performers of his generation. This concert from the Sydney Sports Stadium was the culmination of his Australia & New Zealand tour in 1976, an event that marked his comeback to the live stage after a creatively fruitful four year sabbatical from live performance. The vast crowd was typical of this record-breaking tour, still one of the most memorable in Australian history, and Neil Diamond delivered the enthralling performance of a true showman. Rating: - Great DVD from 1976, never released before.
This is a DVD made from his trip to Australia in 1976, it was put on national TV all over Australia because all his concerts where sold out and the rest of the people in Australia still wanted to see him.

Rating: - 1976... The Final Frontier for Neil Diamond
I can't believe the negative reviews! This is by far the best Neil Diamond DVD out there! Sure, if you like all that Heartlight/Coming-to-America/Bring-me-no-flowers crap, and if you like his glittery costumes and Vegas schtick, then you'll hate this DVD. Mainly because ND was still a great songwriter/performer at this point. After 1976, Neil slowly moved into the realm of shlocky muzak balladeer, down there with Lionel Richie & Leo Sayer. Some reviewers complain about the sound. If you have ... Read More
Rating: - Nostalgia but with terrible sound
To tell you the truth I was looking forward to getting the Neil Diamond Live DVD from Australia. But the sound quality is bad and because of that I haven't watched it right though. I will one day.
The audience sounds like they are in a tunnel and that becomes distracting. The original production was not particularly good. It is from 1976 and was a TV concert but this DVD release seems without any enhancement and is a wasted opportunity.
Rating: - Diamond concert dvd
I recommend this dvd to any Neil Diamond fan. It is a wonderful concert plus an excellent interview.
Rating: - Highly Recommended!
I was quite happy to see this dvd being offered here. This video really captures Neil the way he performed in the mid 70's. The songs and performances are excellent throughout. Included in the set is an intimate and at times very revealing in-studio interview with Neil.
The packaging on this set is top notch as well. Along with a nice booklet with photos and info on the concert, there is a mini poster, which is a reproduction from the Sydney Independent. Now maybe we can get Love at ... Read More
