Editorial Review: Why is the incidence of autism increasing in the United States? For decades, the best estimate for the prevalence of autism was four to five per 10,000 children. It is now estimated that 1 in 150 children have this disorder and one in six children have some type of neurodevelopmental handicap? Could this be related to the mercury in vaccines? Why do U.S. high school graduates do so poorly in competitive tests with high school graduates from other countries? These interviews answer these questions and many more. Dr. F. Edward Yazbak is a pediatrician and since 1998 has conducted research into regressive autism. Dr. Bryan Jepson is involved in treatment and research of ASD at Thoughtful House Center for Children, he also has an autistic child. Dr. Cindy Schneider is currently the Medical Director of the Center for Autism Research & Education (CARE) and has been exclusively devoted to the treatment of neurological and autoimmune disorders since 1998. Dr. Bernard Rimland was the founder of the Autism Research Institute and was a pioneer in the field since 1958 when his son was diagnosed with Autism. Dr. Rimland passed away in 2006.
