Based on a popular PC dating game, the 2006 broadcast series Kanon is a remake of the 2002 program. High school student Yuichi Aizawa moves to snowy northern Japan to live with his cousin Noyuki, whom he hasn't seen in seven years. He doesn't remember much about the place, but he's willing to give it a try. Everything appears normal, but the placid surface conceals secrets the filmmakers only hint at. Yuichi discovers the town is populated with odd girls who remember him, although he has no memory of them. Amnesiac Makoto can recall she hates Yuichi; Ayu, who steals food from street vendors, latches onto him like a barnacle; aimless Shiori talks to him like a brother. Even the apparently normal Noyuki has quirks. Yuichi's past will undoubtedly become clearer as the plot develops and the relationships gel, but the story begins very slowly. - A beautiful, lush animated drama series with characters that you actually care about.
"Kanon" referred by many fans of the series as "Kanon 2006, an anime based on a PC visual novel from KEY/VISUAL ARTS (and later released on the Sega Dreamcast, Sony PS2 and PSP) and was released once before in a 13 episode series back in 2002 gets a remake with a 24 episode run starting back in October 2006 through March 2007.

Without rehashing 2002, I'll just focus on the 2006 series and first four episodes in this review.

I love Kanon and can't wait to get my hands on volume 4. It is visually beautiful and really appeals to all of your senses....but most of a...is the story....which ties in to Air, yet another series and movie, which I highly recommend.

As I have come to expect this is an enjoyable and funny 100 minutes of easy watching, and it will hopefully make you smile and think about your own life and problems, for me it's a winner all the way.
