Rating: out of 5 stars - Blatant gender stereotyping runs rampant...
Max is a mischievous little bunny that speaks in one or two word "sentences", repeated over and over. He plays with mud, worms, helicopters, motorcycles, and trucks.

Ruby is Max's older sister and embodies the worst of the stereotypically "feminine". Her favorite activities include dressing up as a princess/cheerleader/movie star, baking cakes, gossiping on the phone, reading fashion magazines, etc. The episode that caused Max & Ruby to be oficially banned in our house features ... Rating: out of 5 stars - Our whole family loves Max & Ruby
My two year old son always asks if he can watch Max & Ruby. It is his favorite show. This DVD set is perfect and we plan to bring it with us on trips so my son can watch them on his portable DVD player. The stories are always so cute and my son watches them with a smile on his face.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Max & Ruby DVDs
The product was exactly what we hoped for. It arrived earlier than expected and we are really enjoying the DVDs.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Teachable Moments
I agree with the reviewer who said that the behavior of Max does not set a good example for toddlers. I also witnessed my verbal daughter start to immitate the adorable but defiant one-word responses of Max. I told my daughter that we would not watch Max and Ruby anymore if she continued to bahave in that way. I turned these into teachable moments that gave us an opportunity to discuss appropriate vs. naughty behavior. We still enjoy the books and DVDs, but we watch them together and discuss them. ... Rating: out of 5 stars - Lovable, but saddly the message is negative
The animation, the characters are as perfect as a Beatrix Potter novel, BUT Max is a naughty little bunny. I've read Ruby to be described as bossy, but she looks after Max and he rarely listens to a word she says. He is tricky, clever, adorable and very stubborn and hard-headed and though this rings a bell for we parents, it isn't at all a good example to sit your impressionable, bright, already challenging toddler in front of, or read to for that matter, for 1/2 an hour, more or less.
