Editorial Review: This grandfather of all people-skills books was first published in 1937. It was an overnight hit, eventually selling 15 million copies. How to Win Friends and Influence People is just as useful today as it was when it was first published, because Dale Carnegie had an understanding of human nature that will never be outdated. Financial success, Carnegie believed, is due 15 percent to professional knowledge and 85 percent to "the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership, and to arouse enthusiasm among people." He teaches these skills through underlying principles of dealing with people so that they feel important and appreciated. He also emphasizes fundamental techniques for handling people without making them feel manipulated. Carnegie says you can make someone want to do what you want them to by seeing the situation from the other person's point of view and "arousing in the other person an eager want." You learn how to make people like you, win people over to your way of thinking, and change people without causing offense or arousing resentment. For instance, "let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers," and "talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person." Carnegie illustrates his points with anecdotes of historical figures, leaders of the business world, and everyday folks. --Joan Price

Rating: - Great book
A lot of it is common sense, but things we tend to forget. Book came in great condition and came quickly.
Rating: - How to Win Friends and Influence People: review by Jon Gillespie-Brown, Author "So you want to be an entrepreneur"
How reading a single book can change your life!
It's true, when I was 16 years old I (like many others I have now found out since then) read my first book about business. I was drawn to it in a small, old fashioned book shop that's no longer in business. At the time I didn't really know any entrepreneurs or people that ran their own business and I had no mentor to point me in the right direction. The book simply "spoke" to me and I grabbed it and bought it.
Weird stuff. ... Read More
Rating: - Read this and make a million bucks
This book will make you a million bucks just like it has me if you follow the very simple rules for relating to people.
Rating: - Life Changing
No wonder this is a classic. It is a good reminder of all the things you inherently know, but forget as a normal part of daily life. Immediately upon starting to read it, the way I was dealing with people changed - and business improved quickly! Obviously, a book that should be read over and over. One of the best!
Rating: - Love, LOVE this Book!
What a great book and so easy to read. A must have for anyone who deals with people and values their relationships with others. Dale Carnegie writes in a way so that you remember what he says and start to apply it right away. He's committed to his reader's success and it's evident in the way he writes.
