Editorial Review: Facing impossible odds and unavoidable sacrifice the samurai know this battle will determine the fate of not only Kanna Village but that of an entire nation. The final battle has arrived. It ends here.Episodes:1. The Oaths2. The Last Battle3. The Era s EndDVD Features:- Textless Closing and Opening Songs Genre: ANIMATION/ADULT SWIM Artist: SAMURAI 7 UPC: 704400058301
Samurai 7 comes to a spectacular conclusion in a prolonged battle that occupies most of the last three episodes. To protect Kanna village, Kambei and his mismatched band attack the Capitol, the newly proclaimed Emperor Ukyo's equivalent of the Death Star. The warriors perform gravity-defying leaps, as they slash through steel, deflect bullets, and split laser beams with their swords. The outcome is pretty much a foregone conclusion, although director Toshifumi Takizawa throws in a few unexpected twists. Samurai 7 is a baroque mecha adventure that offers plenty of over-the-top battle sequences for viewers who want a mixture of feudal and futuristic derring-do. But to pretend its meandering plot, stock heroes, and tinpot villains have anything to do with Akira Kurosawa's brilliant Seven Samurai is merely silly. This limited edition comes with a collector's box that holds all seven discs. (Rated TV PG, suitable for ages 12 and older: violence) --Charles Solomon

Rating: - Good stuff.
I found the Samurai 7 series to be quite the interesting story. The 7th and final disc of this series did not dissapoint. Not only was the story good, but the collectors box it is packaged with makes it a beautiful addition to a collector's shelf.
Rating: - Collector or not, this series deserves a special ed. box
I have been slowly building my anime collection and there is nothing nicer than fitting all of the volumes into one original-artwork covered box. Having an entire series together feels great, so what better way to show it off than with the collector's box.
Rating: - Great series.
Samurai 7 has been a wonderful ride. The story has been engaging the whole way and I haven't been disappointed with a single volume. This dvd was no exception. I won't offer any spoilers except to say that the last episode seemed to fall a little flat to me, but not enough to detract from the series as a whole, and it stayed true to Akira Kurosawa's original 7 Samurai.
Rating: - The End of the Journey
Was a blast, im a huge fan of the series. And the end is really great. The Animation seems even more well done than most of the rest of the series and the plot ends in satisfying conclusion. Id prefer not to say any spoilers. But if your a fan at all, i mean ..come on its the end =). But the collecters box is very nice, its made pretty well its not flimsy material in anyway. Im curious what the *limited edition* offered but the box is definately worth it for collectors. Either way..buy this..right ... Read More
