Editorial Review: In this winning comedy-adventure, writer Shouji Gatou and director Koichi Chigira combine mecha battles, psychic abilities, and teen-age romance, infusing the mixture with a rambunctious comic energy reminiscent of Generator Gawl. High school student Kaname Chidori may be a "Whispered," an individual who possesses vast, untapped mental powers. The KGB and other sinister organizations want to capture individuals with those powers, so the anti-terrorist mercenary corps Mithril dispatches a mismatched trio of officers to protect Kaname: Melissa Mao, Sousuke Sagara, and Kurz Weber. Sousuke tries to blend in at Jindai High, but his military bearing, hair-trigger reflexes, and literal-mindedness get him into trouble with the teachers and Kaname. At a time when many anime series feel like variations on Evangelion and a few other prototypes, Full Metal Panic offers an upbeat, appealing originality. This set contains the entire seven volume series. (Unrated: Suitable for ages 14 and older: violence, brief nudity, alcohol use, risqué humor) --Charles Solomon

Excellent Series. I must have watched this collection 8 times already since I received it.
Rating: - Sousuke, I just don't understand.
Full metal Panic: So much potential and such a dissapointing outcome. I give this three stars for the characters of Tessa, Sousuke, and Miss Chidori. Tessa and Miss Chidori, the female leads, develop into wonderful, blossoming characters with a full range of emotion, wit, and courage. As they travel through this rather meandering "meh" style mecha,I found they were the only reasons I continued to watch this show. Sousuke, who, while at the begginning has a rather charming and humourous naivete ... Read More
Rating: - Action mixed with comedy.
This is the first appearance of Souske Sagara and Kaname Chidori. He is a mercanary that was a former Afghan child soldier. She is a high schooler that has a special magical ability. While there is comedy there is also action. At one point, Souske Sagara goes on a mission and everyone on his team is killed except him. His nonchalant attitude could indicate post dramatic stress disorder, but he seems like a very bland character. It would have been nice to see him show affection toward Kaname Chidori ... Read More
Rating: - A Serious Anime with a Little Fun
I fully expected this serious to be your run of the mill, high school drama with a twist. I was seriously mistaken. What a treat I was in for! Full Metal Panic does have its share of lighthearted, fun episodes with Souske Sagara getting into all sorts of trouble as he impersinates a high school student. The two protagonists, Souske and Chidori, play off each other wonderfully. At times it seems Chidori might just fall for Souske but then he ends up blowing up the locker room or smuggling automatic weapons ... Read More

One of my favorite shows ever. Action, love comedy, robots, what more could you ask for?
