Editorial Review: Just the thing for CD- and radio-starved kitchens, bedrooms, offices, and places of business, Teac's slim and stylish SR-L35B stereo system is slender enough to be inconspicuous but powerful enough--with 9 watts per channel and a pair of 2.3-inch speakers in bass-reflex enclosures--to deliver clear, pleasing sound. Whether you set it on a desk or mount it to the wall, you'll have your choice of audio programming when and where you need it. The SR-L35B is also a digital clock with handy sleep and wake timers. Audio-CD-R-compatible disc features include random play, repeat play (1/all), and program play (up to 20 tracks in sequence), and a cool motorized door opens and closes to release or embrace your discs. The unit boasts a drift-free, quartz PLL-synthesized FM/AM tuner with 20 station presets for one-touch tuning to whisk you elsewhere when commercials cut in with their too-loud voices. A headphone jack permits private listening, and the system even sports a stereo auxiliary input for your MP3 player, cassette deck, or other device. Icing on the charcoal-colored cake, the system also includes a remote control for convenient source and level adjustments from afar. Rating: - excellent
mounts easily on wall (as I did) or sits nicely on a shelf. great sound quality, with moderate highs and excellent bass response. remember the price, to find a better unit would be difficult. (do also remember to use the motorized door opener to use the cd. the only strange thing about this radio/cd player)
Rating: - Decent solution
I set the TEAC system up last night. It's nice looking. I was able to tuck it into a shelf where it won't be noticed. The only design flaw is the CD player - the CD sits vertically in the system, and when you press the button to open the door it comes all the way out so it's at a 90 degree angle to the CD player. Even with proper use, it may break sooner than expected.
The sound is DEFINITELY heavy on the bass, which makes my music sound great. However, as the previous reviewer said, it ... Read More
Rating: - A Decent 'Second' Stereo
Don't fool yourself; this is no Bose Wave Radio. Comparisons between the two are foolhardy, and with such disparate price points, such comparisons shouldn't be made.
With this being said, the SR-L35B is a solid backup stereo to help fill an office or kitchen with enjoyable FM music. The unit captures high-mid range tones quite well, it's digital tuner extremely accurate to signal acquisition. Moreover, the sturdy, SR-L35B is an aesthetically-pleasing unit that looks spiffy wherever it ... Read More
Rating: - Excellent for the money.
Bought this stereo because I wanted something nice for my office that sounded decent and had more than 2 watts of power per channel. Granted, this does not sound like my Bose Wave system I have at home, but it was also less than 1/4 the cost. The unit has a full bodied sound that makes it sound like a bigger system than it is. There is no tone adjustment but, but I haven't listened to anything that would make me want to adjust the tone. In sum, a good buy for the money.
Rating: - Not great but not bad.
I bought this in August 2005. My main gripe is that you can't see the clock when the radio or a CD is playing unless you get out of bed, walk acrosss the room and press the "Display" button. Couldn't they have put a "display" button on the remote? I don't mind the slighly heavy bass. I notice it only when someone is talking. And I wish it had the depth of sound I got from my old Panasonic. Would I buy it again? Maybe. There isn't much choice today in clock radios at a reasonable price.
