Rating: - poor support, extremely difficult to uninstall,
I had been using mcafee security suite (VirusScan, Personal fire wall+, Privacy service) that came pre-installed with my Dell computer(free service for 90 days)and was very happy with the product until I tried to renew my subscription. My security index score was lowered because it said my product wasn't up to date, when I tried an update it said I was already running the latest version. Rating:  - rebates a joke also
In addition to the problems with McAfee pop-ups (one of them seems to have no "close" option thereby requiring control/alt/delete command) and lenghly scans (no results are indicated)the rebate process is unclear, complicated and impossible to comply with. I bought a bundle of 8.0 and Firewall, took a few weeks to install and set up, and then was too late for the 15 day time limit on rebates. I'll uninstall and buy another product soon. I was considering buying this Version 8. I have Version 7.0 and have had no problems. But where there is smoke there is fire. I wonder if it has to do with the new Windows Upgrade from Microsoft. I THINK I WILL PASS ON THIS ONE. THANKS FOR THE ADVICE CUSTOMERS.

McAfee reminds me of the 18th-century thieves who, when pursued by the crowd, would join the pursuers shouting "Stop Thief." McAfee sells you "security software" to deal with everything from popups to spyware, and then the program you install annoys you constantly with popups and advertisements for all the McAfee products you haven't yet purchased. Everything was Ok until I did my annual renewal. Or attempted to, anyway.
The offer was $49.99, with a $20 "mail-in" rebate. I thought that was about the stupidest thing I ever heard of in my life. I mean, I renew electronically, download electronically, pay electronically, and then supposedly get a rebate through snail mail. But, I needed the virus protection, held my nose, and paid the money.
