Editorial Review: UK edition of the adult alternative act's seventh album & 2001 release, previously available exclusively in Japan. Described as Ennio Morricone meets John Barry with a hint of St Etienne, Goldfrapp, Bacharach & Dusty Springfield with jazzy beats, funky melodies & hauntingly beautiful vocals. Overall a very cool soulful French-style soundtrack.
Originally Released in Japan in 2001, Sos have Reunited with Original Producer Paul O'duffy to Create a Work of Recorded Art that is Sublime and Strikingly Cinematic. The Range of Material Goes from Beautiful Ballads to Pop Sophistication, Echoing the Brilliance of Brian Wilson's 'pet Sounds' Era, the Classic Era of Michel Legrand Or Francis Lai and the Class of Burt Bacharach. Sos have Produced a Brilliant Ephemeral Soundtrack to a New Generation.

Rating: - IS IT A MASTERPIECE OR SOMETHING MORE THAN THAT ?
SWING OUT SISTERs masterpiece so far and one of the most unique and sophisticated soundracks ever came out .It is something more than a masterpiece due to the fact that the music inside this excellent musical theme looks like a circle which urges you to find its start and its end .However there is no end there is no start in this circle of constant harmony and perfection .Jazzy and silky imaginative and extremely colourfull with a beggining without end in beauty transparency and musical expression ... Rating: - for fans only
always good stuff from corrine and andy. however this one lacks the poppy hooks and punch of much of their other stuff.
Rating: - SOS does it again!
Beauty in motion, languid cinerama of romantic retreats and long-lost loves... So many reviewers describe Swing Out Sister as a "guilty pleasure", and I've said it myself from time to time... but this dynamic duo just continue to explore and amaze from any and all ways, but always with that trademark cool-city-future-jazz-pop sound they've so thoroughly monopolized. Damn, breathless again! Sophisto-pop expands into realms unknown... bella bella!

Rating: - The sweetest and most haunting.
It is bizarre that this album did not relaunch Swing Out Sister's profile beyond their die hard fans, because it's quite possibly their finest yet.
This suite of songs channels the haunting beauty of "Kaleidescope World" and if you loved that album or SOS tracks with an 'after hours' charm like "Twilight World" from the first album, then you'll be in raptures over this.
It's the perfect amalgam of Bacharach, Sergio Mendes and Jimmy Webb - a frosted, starlit, dreamy cocktail that ... Read More
Rating: - An album you could make a movie out of ...
I have been a SOS fan since the begining, but feel they have improved with each release. This album is a sound / land scape of cinematic images, strings, unbelievable production and vocals. Interludes, instrumentals - truly hypnotic. Every time i hear certain songs from this i get goose bumps - makes you wonder if they knew in the studio just how good this was going to turn out. Great to listen to while traveling in a car, or headphones for that all - encompassing sound. Truly fantastic!!!
