The second CD from the Swedish acoustic trio Triakel features Christmas compositions and other winter songs, including a New Year's hymn, an Advent hymn, and an Epiphany song. Comprised of Emma Härdelin (vocals), Janne Strömstedt (harmonium), and Kjell-Erik Eriksson (fiddle), Triakel perform gentle, pastoral numbers that are just the right length and that blend together smoothly. Even the more uptempo tracks, like the two staffansvisas from Orust and Jämtland, are low-key enough to maintain the graceful, gentle vibe of the whole album.
