Boston Acoustics has always been a name associated with quality, a quality that has been apparent in their multimedia speaker line including the MediaTheater system. The Boston Acoustics BA4800 is an analog 5-piece, 4-channel surround speaker system ideal for computer gaming or any enhanced audio application at the desktop. The system includes four micro-satellites and a large, amplified, ported subwoofer for deep bass response. The BA4800 performs best with PC sound cards offering 4-speaker output (2 stereo outputs, "front" & "rear"), but will also please audio enthusiasts as a stereo music system when connected to any headphone jack or line-level output (portable CD player, MiniDisc player, MP3 player etc.). With added features like MagnaGuard magnetic shielding, stable rear tower stands, extra-long surround cable connections and speaker-mounted controls, you not only get the renowned Boston Acoustics sound but uncommon flexibility.

My computer is my home stereo, i like it loud & with a lot of bass..... this package delivers! Whether you like to crank it up or listen to it low, all the sound is there... and for the money you simply can't go wrong. I bought these for a friend for her birthday..I now find out she wants them for a laptop...don't know if they will work for a laptop...but I have an older model...I love them!!!
Rating: - A thing of beauty
Many years ago, I purchased their 2.1 speaker system which still work perfectly. Chrystal-clear highs and soft, deep lows. I was saddened when they discontinued that model and left that market space. I'm very glad to see they're back. You get SO much for your money with their computer speakers.

"Wow" is pretty much the only word to discribe these speakers. The sound is perfect, and for the money is impossible to beat. When i turn the surround sound off and only play music from the front 2, they are like any other speakers but with the addition of the 2 rear speakers the quality becomes outstanding.
