Rating: - The Starwars of Music
I love this music. My coworker and I listen to Rhapsody (of Fire) all day at work.
Just a word of warning: musically, Rhapsody (of Fire) leaves nothing to be desired; just don't think too hard about the lyrics. Luca Turilli's lyrics are rather campy.
Rating: - Warriors' Arrival
1997's Legendary Tales marks the arrival of Italian metal warriors Rhapsody onto the metal scene, and while it's easy to write these guys off as cheesy Dungeons & Dragons throwback metal, you can't underestimate the impact they had on the (re)emerging power metal scene in the late 90's. It had been a long time since anyone had played such unabashedly earnest, fantasy-based power metal and those that did (I'm talking Malmsteen and Manowar here) never took it to the lengths that Rhapsody did.

Rating: - Rhapsody's Legendary Tales
An incredible cd, flawed only by the main singer, who shouldn't--he should stick to writing the music. This is hard-metal-fusion, with the fusion combining sounds reminiscent ofBach, Mozart and Wagner. Who has ever concieved of a funky harpsichord?!

I'm a true metal fan. To me Metal is metal, or their heart was at least in the right place. Except in the case of hardcore or nu-metal, which we all ... Read More
Rating: - One of the best debuts ever?
Many bands often don't have a debut that shatters pre-existing notions about genres, but Rhapsody is a band that manages to do just that with its release of Legendary Tales. This band is one of the first to bring forth symphonic metal, and doing it right (sorry Symphony X, but Rhapsody is just more consistent and has much more ear-catching songs). The first regular length song to start blasting out is Warrior of Ice, and what a song it is. This song has epic written all over it, sporting some of the ... Read More
