Rating:  - Great songwriting, great performance, great diversity
"New Blood" is the most diverse record I've listened to in a long time. Beth Wood is a real songwriter and I appreciate her lyrics as well as the well-crafted melodies. She has succeeded in recording a record the ranges from rock to folk to blues to straight-up jazz tunes, and has made all of them work. Pick a copy of this record and make time to listen to it undisturbed.

"New Blood"is full of suprisingly wonderful interpretations of some already great songs. Beth Wood seems to be making a statement that she is not just some folkie but a presence to be watch out for. I can hardly wait to see what else she has up her sleeve. Unbelievable solo and even better with backup. GO SEE BETH. SEE BETH ROCK. LOVE BETH.

I saw Beth Wood live for the 1st time at the Bele Chere festival in Asheville, NC, 1998, and was absolutely mesmerized by her vocal and musical range and versatility, and her on-and-off-stage charm, so much so that I immediately bought her latest CD "New Blood" and made plans to take my wife, sister, bro-in-law, and brother to see her at "Be Here Now" in Asheville a couple of weeks later, where she played several entertaining sets with two members of the band Jupiter Coyote. ...
