Iggy's torturous, red-lined remix puts the claws, violence, and danger back in grooves first cut in '73 (and supposedly botched in David Bowie's far more tame--and somewhat more listenable--original mix). Result: Sublime Motor City mayhem. --Jeff Bateman
Limited edition reissue, in a digipak, of the band's historic 1973 album. The booklet features extensive sleeve notes, including an interview with Iggy. Eight tracks, including 'Search And Destroy', 'Penetration' and 'Raw Power'.

Rating: out of 5 stars - not crazy about the mix, but it still kills
The songs are still great and Iggy's remix can't kill it. You can probably find used copies of the old CD with the original mix for cheap. Get both.

Then get Mighty High...In Drug City.

Rating: out of 5 stars - BUY THE ORIGINAL VINYL INSTEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Music wise, this is great. Remastered wise, it sucks. I had a copy of this on vinyl before it was reissued on CD ($25 for a used copy back in 87), and loved it! It was gritty, noisy, and sounded low budget. The power of the band was obvious like in the days of Funhouse.

Years later, I bought this remastered CD because I wore out my vinyl copy. Ugh! What the hell was Iggy thinking? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! It's still noisy, but the feel of the original album is gone. Five stars ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Is this one of the worst sounding cds ever? Yes
Just listen to some previews and get ready to turn your speakers off. It's a shame this album was remastered this bad, and people keep buying it because they think a remaster has to be good. It's a shame, because this is Iggy's best album.

Rating: out of 5 stars - too raw, too much power perhaps?
Raw Power is considered a masterpiece by many perhaps for featuring a radically different sound and influencing the punk rock genre, but really, Fun House is a MUCH better and easier listening experience. I just can't tolerate what the band was trying to do on this release.

That's my problem and you probably shouldn't listen to me since, after all, most people consider Raw Power a classic that influenced thousands of punk rock bands many years later (well, as soon as punk rock was considered ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC
GOD, THEY JUST DON'T MAKE ALBUMS LIKE THIS ANYMORE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO ROCK AND ROLL, BUT THIS IS THE REAL STUFF, THE KIND YOU USED TO PUT ON AND YOUR PARENTS USED TO SCREAM AT YOU TO TURN THAT DAMN THING DOWN! I SAW IGGY POP PERFORM LOTS OF TIMES IN THE 1970'S, HE ALWAYS PUT ON A GREAT SHOW. THIS ALBUM IS FROM 1973, IT'S 35 YEARS OLD AND BETTER THAN ANYTHING COMING OUT TODAY..................
