This is the best movie I have been wanting it for a long time, but was told that it was out of print. So I was on Amazon and typed in the title and found it, I wanted it on DVD but VHS will do at least I have it. My family loves the movie and it brings us together, plus it is a good clean family movie. The ratings nowadays leaves a lot to be desired, but this is one that you don't have to worry about. I remember catching this movie in the early 90's on HBO. I have to admit after a while I forgot all about this movie, then for some strange reason I remembered it. I was so excited to find it again. As a matter of fact since purchasing it, I have watched quite a bit. I even showed it to my 5th grade class, who at first was against watching it. I think that The Sea Gypsies is a great movie! I first watched it on TV and I just really enjoyed watching it. It is about a widower who decides to sail around the world with his children and also winds up with a female reporter and also discovers a runaway orphan who has hidden on the boat and they wind up getting caught in a storm that wrecks the boat and they get stranded on an uninhabited Alaskan Island and must try to find a way off the island, especially before the long cold winter sets in.
