Being hated is an ugly, but very real experience, even in the land of “Minnesota Nice” where no one wants to believe discrimination exists.
But, what if you were hated for just being who you are? What if you were hated, not for what how you looked or what you believed in, but because of who you chose to love?
Danielle “Dani” Corbett and her girlfriend Meg O’Donnell know firsthand what hatred can cost. After a vicious and intentional attack fueled by nothing more than hatred, Meg is dead and Dani is left physically injured and emotionally scarred. Since her injury prevents Dani from fleeing on her motorcycle, which is her normal response to a crisis, she must find a way to deal with her grief and rage. But as one door has closed for Dani, another opens when Grace Beaumont, a young woman who works as a physical therapist at the hospital where Dani is treated, befriends her and helps her to heal.
With Grace's friendship and the help of Grace’s aunts, Estelline and Ruth, Dani manages to get through the ordeal of bringing Dani’s attacker and Meg’s killer to justice. Through her emotional journey Dani finds love, acceptance, and family.
Filled with memorable characters, RICOCHET IN TIME is the story of one lonely woman’s fight for justice – and her struggle to resolve the troubles of her past and find a place in a world where she belongs.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Great Book
This fast paced drama is one of Lori Lake's best books. The characters are believable and seem very real. Dani struggles with not running away to solve her problems. I enjoyed the story and highly recommend it to anyone interested in Lesbian novels.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Timeless!
Ricochet is the first book I have read from Lori Lake and I can't wait to read more if they are all as good as this book!
I really enjoyed it and it was an easy read...
The characters are real and interesting. Ricochet is a must have for your collection!

Rating: out of 5 stars - One-sided and stilted relationship
I found myself more interested in the supporting characters (Estelline and Ruth) than Dani. Understandably Dani has closed off her heart and person after the cruel loss of her lover by a vicious homophobic attack. Into her world of pain and emptiness comes a compassionate nurse, Grace, who Dani reluctantly turns to as a companion more than a girlfriend.

In fact Dani seems to relate better to Grace's Aunt and partner than she does to Grace as she becomes a part of Estelline and Ruth's ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Top-Notch!
Lesbian fiction is getting better and better! This book has a big following, and I can see why: top-notch all the way. Great characters, solid story, nice pace and structuring. There's nothing flashy or shocking or annoying about this book; it's just good, old fashioned storytelling!

Rating: out of 5 stars - A Great Story
I thoroughly enjoyed this solid, entertaining story. The best books both show you a world you aren't familiar with and yet make you identify and sympathize with the characters. Lori Lake succeeds on both counts. As a gay man, I haven't read a lot of lesbian fiction and Ricochet in Time makes me think I need to read more. Let me see, however, that I even hesitate to classify this book as "lesbian" fiction. It's simply fiction and damned good fiction at that.

It's especially difficult for ... Read More
