Chicago native B.J. Warren travels to the Florida island of Ana Lia to care for her grandmother's house after her grandmother has an accident and breaks her hip. Nothing and no one on the island is anywhere near what BJ would call normal. The island inhabitants exist in a world that cares little for what folks do on the mainland. The center of activity for their society revolves around a diner called Rebecca's Cove where the self-centered B.J. alienates just about every member of the small community. But, she meets her match in a local woman, Hobie Lynn Allen.
This is not a love at first sight story as both women find the other completely annoying and self-righteous. However, the island—and Rebecca's Cove—have an odd way of changing the way folks view their world and the people around them. Sometimes it's not a matter of what you're seeing, but rather, the position from which you see it.

Rating: out of 5 stars - One of the better ones
This is one of the better works of lesbian fiction that I have read, and I've read a lot of them. Some parts of the book literally made me laugh out loud. Good characters, good setting, and good plot.

Rating: out of 5 stars - There's No Such Thing As An Accident...
Baylor Warren's elderly aunt is hospitalized with a broken hip and asks her to take care of her home on Ana Lia Island in south Florida. The island and people are very different from what Baylor is used to in Chicago. Soon after arriving on the island, Baylor has an accident of her own when local vet Hobie Lynn Allen runs her over with her truck. At first hostile torward each other, the women find themselves falling in love. Both are scared of their feelings, but are influenced by outside forces ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Womderful romance
OMG I love this book. I could not put it down and finished it in one day. Both womyn's characters are believable. Their relationship is stormy, beautiful, romantic.... If you looking for humor and romance you are in for a hurt treat: this book kept me in laughing tears entire time.

Rating: out of 5 stars - This is what it's all about
This is what I expect when reading a first rate lesbian fiction. L J Maas has written a very clever, funny book that sizzles in all the right places. I found her characters very delightful, and Baylor's stubbornness just had me laughing my pants off. The chemistry between the two main leads was great....fire and ice, just like the book says. Overall, a very good storyline with strong, structured character development. Definitely worth the money!

Rating: out of 5 stars - Didn't find witty, or funny., but superficial and ornate!
While I have a great deal of respect for the author's work, I'm not ready to accept all of her ideas as gospel, or that her novels are superbly written. It is my belief that this book has a handful of flaws. Starting with the creativity, which although is imaginative to say the least; it lack originality, ambitious marble allegories, elegance. It is superficial, ornate, and imposing of lifestyles, which, in my opinion the author is completely alien or at least offence to some that are famaliar with ... Read More
