Rating:  - A solid read worth the money!
This was a well thought out book and does not have the characters jumping in to bed at the drop of a hat, which is all too common. I appreciated how the characters were developed and story line plotted. I intend to keep this one.
Rating: - Doctors with an Uber Twist...
Take a talented surgeon with a dangerous past and you have the enigmatic Alex Marguilles. Alex (aloof, tall, dark and blue-eyed - i.e., Xena) has a past that includes dangerous drug use and a lover lost to cancer. To keep ahead of the game, she buries her emotions and has a reputation as being cold and heartless.

Rating: - Wonderfully fulfilling and unique characters - do not miss
The writing is wonderful and story addictive. This was a real pager turner but so robust that is was not possible to read in one sitting. I like a nice long read that fully fleshes out the characters and their surroundings. I am not one for Harlequin romances so if that is what makes you happy you will want to look elsewhere.

If this hadn't been uber-xena, it would have been a decent, albeit pedestrian read. Adding the repetitive mantra of "tall, dark-haired" or "short blond woman" made this yet another nauseating uber-xena fantasy.
The plot was uneven - some parts were confusing and others did not follow from the previous action, while the sub-plot with the ex-boyfriend was repetitive. He could have been used for so much more than just showing up and threatening Alex in front of witnesses.
