As a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, I love this book as a professional resource. It is top on my list of books to recommend to colleagues and clients looking for indepth guidance on the Gluten Free diet. Rating: - highly recommended
As a Registered Dietitian, I can not believe how many people have celiac disease and don't know it. They are just finding out and need correct info (not internet hoopla) about how to be accurately tested, a simple description of what the disease is, easy to follow "what to eat and not eat" diet instruction, menus, lists of BRAND NAME gluten-free products, substitutions for gluten containing grains and good recipes. Hands down, this is the GF book I highly recommend.
Rating: - A little too much "resource guide"; not enough facts
I bought this book because I suspected that I have celiac disease and was hoping for more facts about the disease and more information on how to create a satisfying diet of gluten free foods in our country which has a diet very much dependent wheat unlike other countries (Mexico, India..). I am, however, a student in nutrition seeking my Masters in Clinical Nutrition so I am sure that this has affected ... Read More
Rating: - Alot of information in one book
There is alot of information in this book. One thing that makes this book different than the other GF books I have read: it lists the different products and where you can purchase these products either by phone or internet. The descriptions of different kinds of flour and where to purchase them is wonderful.
Rating: - Maybe----
This might be a good purchase if you'd like to avoid using the internet. As a newly diagnosed celiac, I found tons of information on the net so seldom refer to this particular book.
