Margos Medallion of 1840 won first place in the traditional Pieced, Professional category at the AQS Paducah, Kentucky, show in 2004. Olde English Medallion is in the collection of the Museum of the American Quilters Society.The book includes a section on the history of medallion quilts, with photos of gorgeous antiques from the authors collection. Readers will also find help on designing their own quilts in this style. Several beautiful quilts have been patterned for the readers enjoyment. Quilters can make as many of the borders as they want, or stop after any border for a completely different look. The appliqu patterns can be used in other projects as well.

The first half of the book gives you history and BEAUTIFUL colored photos of a many medallion quilts. The last half of the book offers four different medallion patterns.The patterns are full size for the applique portion of the quilts.The directions for the piecing elements are clear and easy to follow.
