Rating: out of 5 stars - Not well written/organized
It is nice to know that some people got help from this book. I did not, and here is why : The book is badly organized and the information while helpful is not straigh-forward.

2 years ago, I started having extreme pain chewing, and pain in my molars. I went to the dentist many times who did not find anything wrong with my teeth. I got a mouth guard and went to a oral surgeon and got MRI's etc. Nothing did help. After about 8 months my upper teeth ceased to hurt, but 2 lower rear ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - I refer this book to all my TMD related patients
I am a general dentist in state of Oregon. I loan this book to my patient who has TMD or think he/she has TMD. (Everyone has TMJ but not everyone has TMD) I let them read this book for couple weeks and a short follow up visit. Most patients are amazed how much better they feel by following the instructions from this book. I highly recommend this book. Simple diagram and easy to read instructions. Patient treat themselves without medication is a wonderful thing!

Rating: out of 5 stars - Doesn't work for everyone
Hi. I rate this book 1 star not because it is a poorly written book, but to bring to your attention that this book, in regards to "self help" does not work for everyone.

I bought this book due to all of the 5 star reviews and declarations that individuals found immediate relief from some of the things in this book. I am very happy for their results. I wasn't expecting immediate relief, but I was expecting more effective self-help techniques and less recommendations to go to more doctors ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Real help
I had been suffering from TMJ disorder (internal derangment with the slipped disc) for 7 months when I bought this book and started doing the exercises. Two months later all the soreness in the back, shoulders and neck was gone and the mouth slowly began to open more and more. I still have to wear a bite during the night, but thanks to the exercises I can chew harder food and have no more pain, nowhere. I'm so much better now. No local specialists could help me as much as this book, I'm very grateful ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Great Relief!
I have never written a review in my life, but I had to after reading this book. I have suffered from TMj for over 10 years and have gone to 2 specialists, wore mouth guards, etc. These treatments were helpful during the time, but it required me going back regularly, wearing uncomfortable night guards, and of course medical expenses. Recently my TMJ relapsed after a health problem and I suffered jaw aches, molars were hurting, and throat was also hurting (in addition to painful cracking sounds and difficulty ... Read More
