Editorial Review: Best-selling author Karen Kingsbury weaves another dramatic story of tragedy and redemption! Mary Madison was a child of unspeakable horrors, a young woman society wanted to forget. Now a divine power has set Mary free to bring life-changing hope and love to battered and abused women living in the shadow of the nation's capital. Mary is educated and redeemed, a powerful voice in Washington, D.C.--both to the politically elite and to other women like her. But she also has a past that shamed polite society. Her experiences created in her paralyzing fear, faithlessness, addiction, and promiscuity. At the crossroads of her life, only one power set Mary free and gave her a lifetime of love and hope. A power that could only be divine.

Rating: - Not Devine for me
I have read many books by Karen Kingsbury, but this one just fell short. It was all too tidy and contrived. Although the story was interesting and moved quickly. It shows that Karen must not have ever seen someone addicted to Crack or cocain, they don't give it up that easily no matter how much they love the lord. It just did not feel real to me and seemed not at all plausible. Karen has talent it was just wasted on this book.
Rating: - One of her best!
This is one of her best books yet. I thouroughly enjoyed it from the beginning to end. You won't be disappointed.
Rating: - Wish I could give this negative stars
I've read two of Karen Kingsbury books-- this was the first-- and all they ever do is anger me. She writes about subjects she clearly knows nothing about; all of her characters are flat, naive, annoying and she seems to assume that her readers have no intelligence.... judging from her 5-star-reviews, I'd guess that is an accurate assumption.

Rating: - Moved me
WOW-this book made me think I was reading about my own life. I too went through some devastating things in my childhood. Some similar to what happened to Mary. While the book was hard to read sometimes it was a true depiction of how God's love can truly set you free if you just accept that he loves you unconditionally. It doesn't matter what you were or thought you were, he is there with arms wide open ready to forgive if you just ask and recieve. Thank you to Karen Kingsbury for reinforcing Gods light ... Rating: - God loves even the people that don't think they are worth it!!!!
I liked this book because it gave you two people that had horrible lives that were inspired to come to Jesus. It showed God's influence in our lives even we leasted expect it.
