Editorial Review:The New York Times bestseller takes us on an empowering journey and changes the way we think about fighting cancer David Servan-Schreiber's story of his journey from cancer patient to health combines memoir with a clear scientific explanation of what makes cancer cells thrive and what inhibits them. Anticancer is filled with easy to understand charts and diagrams and a sixteen-page color "Anticancer Action" insert that enables readers to make small but essential changes in lifestyle and diet. Your body knows how to fight cancer, says Servan-Schreiber, and you have to help it with nutrition, physical exercise, stress management, and avoiding environmental toxins. Anticancer enables people living with cancer to adopt a proactive attitude to living, even thriving, with cancer and helps healthy people prevent it.

This book is a life changer. It is written so that a lay person can understand it. Having taught at a medical school I can also say that it is very well documented and up-to-date. I advise not only those suffering from cancer but also those who wish to prevent it to read it and share with friends. I purchased several copies to share it with others. READ IT!

This book does a wonderful job of laying out the evidence base for all the suggestions made. The language is clear and concise. Everything the author suggests is doable. I had a very healthy lifestyle before being diagnosed ... Read More

I first encountered David Servan-Schreiber through his book The Instinct to Heal, Curing Depression, Anxiety, and Stress without Drugs and without Talk Therapy. I was pleased to find a medical doctor willing to consider alternative medicine in the treatment of mental distress. Now his book Anticancer, A New Way of Life, convinces me that he truly has much to add to our understanding of our bodies and our minds at a time when traditional medicine is beginning to acknowledge that there is something ...
