Rating: - Good for the Non Technical
If you have a technical background in wireless, you may find this book somewhat elementary. I would say that a better audience for it is perhaps someone entering the WiMAX world that is in a less technical area (sales, marketing) and needs a quick ramp up on the WiMAX technology.
Rating: - Suggestion: use Wikipedia or on line tutorials
I was looking for a quick way to come up to speed on WiMAX for a graduate school paper. I did not need a blood and guts description of WiMAX, but I hoped to get something of a pseudo-technical overall understanding of the subject.
The author uses lots of acronyms without spelling them out and introduces important concepts without explaining them! [e.g., OFDM/ OFDMA are key to the technology! What do these acronyms mean? Why are these helpful?]

Rating: - Worth both the money & time
This is more of a sales & marketing white paper than a deep technical review, but that is exactly what it's marketed as. With that in mind, this is a great top level review of the topic, and a fine primer for anyone just getting started, or who just needs to understand the high level concepts.

I didn't know too much about WiMAX and this book didn't add a whole lot. it seems like a bit of hodgepodge printed in very low quality.
a bunch of pseudo 'business considerations' and a lot of hype + some information that seemed outdated.
on the plus side - it is a very short read and I could expense the cost ...
Rating: - Luckily my paper shredder handles 56 pages in a single pass
This is little more than a sales pamphlet and a poorly written one at that. It provides a much "highlighted" view of WiMAX and downplays - or just blatantly ignores by omission - the downside and obstacles of this technology. What I find particularly irritating is how the author poses "technical objections" to WiMAX and then proceeds to circumvent any true understanding of the subject by introducing largely irrelevant solutions, some not even associated with WiMAX as a technology itself.
