Editorial Review: The Q.O.D. Diet (or QOD diet, where QOD means 'every other day'), allows you to eat well every other day, and set free the 'real you'. You learn how to fool your body to keep it from switching into starvation mode. You learn how to use the kidneys' 'salt secret' to fast without feeling woozy or washed out. You avoid problems linked to protein-rich, ultralow carb diets. You learn to identify your body's specific food hungers. The diet allows you to enjoy the mental and spiritual benefits of periodic, comfortable, fasting.

Rating: - The easiest and the most effective diet that I ever tried
Everyone who is concerned with her weight knows how difficult it is to shed those 5-10 lb and then keep them away. In the past I had tried various diets, including the all protein diet and the cabbage soup diet. They worked for me somehow, but in the process of dieting, I often experienced physical weakness, hightened irritability, and poor ability to concentrate. QOD Diet turned out to be the one that, in fact, made me feel better both physically and emotionally. I lost 10 lb in about three weeks ... Read More
Rating: - Good idea in theory
This book is very encouraging and the theories seem to be valid. However, I tried the diet and it is not an easy thing to do and doesn't correct poor eating habits. The book basically tells you to eat only every other day and therefor your total calories taken in each week is cut in half. While this seems like a good quick fix, I don't think it corrects the problem of why you need to lose weight in the first place. It is well written and easy to understand. The only thing I would suggest is to ... Read More
Rating: - QOD diet
I bought this book using a version of the QOD diet from a magazine article for about a month. I have been very pleased with the results of the diet and find it relatively easy to follow. I would particularly recommend this book to those looking to lose rather than gain weight this holiday season while still partaking in some holiday feasting. Even if the reader does not find the actual diet to work with his or her lifestyle, there is a lot of interesting information on nutrition in the book.
Rating: - The QOD Diet, Eating Well Every Other Day
This is a great book. It gets into all of the nitty gritty of the diet. This book also provides you with alternatives in the event you don't like or unable to eat certain foods, there are other items for you to choose from.
Rating: - Idea not bad but too many contraindications
The idea sounded alright but when I bought the book the first pages listed so many reasons not to do the diet that I returned the book. I wish they had been listed in the review so I didn't have to buy it and return it.
