Editorial Review:
Inspired by a true story!!! Everyday, ordinary people can make a difference! Ever believe in somethin’ ya’ weren’t about to let die? Ever see what happens when a group of everyday, ordinary people put their heads together in order to make the lives of those around them better? Well, this is that story. It’s a story about farmin’. It’s a story about business. It’s a story about the little guy comin’ out on top. But most of all, it’s a story about folks doin’ the right thing. And yes, it’s a story about dog food, too. So, how can dog food possibly save the earth, you ask? Well, join Martin Trotter and friends on a journey that takes them places even they can’t predict. Our li’l tale begins in a strawberry patch, of all places – a strawberry patch you just might never forget. Windin’ its way across the countryside, from farm group to farm group and on into corporate America, our tale becomes an example of how hard work, determination, and some good ol’ fashioned luck can change the world in which we all live. Driven by a cause? Come along and find out how you, too, can make a difference. Inspired by a true story, our tale evolves into a business model for a new generation. It will have ya' wonderin' why all businesses aren’t driven by a purpose. Learn how a small group of people can make a big difference. Learn how a business founded upon a cause will be successful, despite the inevitable stumblin' blocks. Learn that as residents of Earth, we all need to pay attention to what goes into our foods, both vegetable and animal. Learn that a business, focused on a sole purpose, will attract wonderful, hardworkin', dedicated people who will make sure it succeeds.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Inspired to continue to make a difference.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Enlightened in Chicago
I picked this book up in California because of the Title, but when I started to read it, I didn't want to put it down. While the introduction of characters is cute in the beginning, the interjections by the author soon become important asides that tie things together. Not only do we read about challenges, accomplishments and victory by the subjects, but we realize that we can jump on that bandwagon! This is a must read for anyone who cares about his/her health, the health of loved ones, and, yes, ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - It's all connected
"How Dog Food Saved the Earth" is one of those unique crossover books that calls attention to the fact that our actions have very real consequences. Part fable, part business model, the book is an accessible read with a solid message: with hard work, a little synchronicity, and a whole lot of passion, like-minded people can come together to enact change. In this age of doom and gloom, it's inspiring to read a book with a "can-do," hopeful theme.

Rating: out of 5 stars - How dog food opened up my eyes
A wonderful book that has the ability to change the way you look at what you buy and what you put into your body. The authors of this book tackle the stigma of "organic" food and defeat the stereotypes that organic foods are just for the hippies and health food enthusiasts. Both Swanson and Zolezzi have presented a story that is easy to read, understand, and sympathize with people who are trying to survive in a world that values the dollar a bit more than doing the right thing. As it is said in the title, ... Read More
