This is an excellent first book by Malaurie Barber. It tells the story of Chloe Jones, a young American who signs on to be an au pair for a family in Paris for a year. She's greeted at the airport by tall, dark, enigmatic Laurence Glairon, the oldest daughter in the family, who appears to be as happy to see Chloe as a toothache.
