This manual is designed to be a continuation of Hammerman Associates Jump Start Level 1 The Basics manual. It is designed to simulate a real work environment. In the course senario, you are now a seasoned employee of BigDeal, Inc., and have been promoted to Executive Assistant II. You provide detailed reports and analyses to I. M. Bossy, CEO and President of BigDeal, Inc., and other executives as required. You will get assistance from Databaseman, a consultant on contract to BigDeal, Inc.
We assume that each student in the class will have complete control of his/her own computer; and that the student has completed the Level 1 course or have equivalent training or experience so that he/she is familiar with all the concepts covered in our Level 1 course. It is not intended for programmers, although it does cover more technical aspects of Crystal Reports. It is intended for individuals who want to learn how to use the program in a classroom or on their own.
The Level 2 Courseware also covers the Crystal Report Repository. This is a new feature in Crystal 9. Reusable objects, such as custom functions, text objects, SQL commands, and graphics can be stored in here for application across multiple reports and users. When an object in the Repository is updated, the change will be reflected everywhere it is used.
The manual includes appendices that list all the Crystal functions, a list of all the Crystal toolbars and menus and a data dictionary.
