There is no knowledge more important than the knowledge of listening to our body for the sake of our own health. We have an illusion that someone from the outside can heal us. If anybody can heal us, it is only ourselves. It will take centuries for science to learn the hopelessness of the attempt to push the everchanging human body into frames of scientific theories. But it is possible to know what we need to do here and now for our health. It is possible to learn to listen to our body's voice.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Irresponsible
I am a type one diabetic, I have been for nearly 20 years. The parents of this boy should have been aressted if this story is true. Anyone read about the 11 year old girl in florida who DIED because her parents refused to "give in" and give her medicine?

Either this boy was misdiagnosed or this story is bull. Go ahead, try to pin them down on it. I did. I e-mailed them and asked in a nonconfrontational way how this happend, how in the world their son is off insulin. The response...nothing. ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Great Book
This is a very short book, but gives a good autobiographical story of a family that started learning about raw food. It was written in journal format - several family members traded off in different sections, and we see their thoughts and feelings. I like that it explained how and why the family made their food choices, and how it affected their health. All the family members are battling illnesses or disease at the start of the book, and all are healthy and not under a doctor's care by the end.

Rating: out of 5 stars - The beginning of the journey
This book, chronicling the Boutenko family's evolution from modern day diet lemmings to planetary revolutionaries, is an excellent introduction to the raw food lifestyle. It is appropriate for anyone who is curious about raw foods, how they can change lives, and how we can achieve our dreams if we open our hearts and minds. To top it all off, there are some wonderful pictures and recipes in the end. Like all of Boutenko's books it is incredibly personal, engaging, and this book in particular is the perfect read ... Rating: out of 5 stars - Not for me
I guess I just can't jump onto the raw food bandwagon and actually, I have no reason to as I'm healthy. I read Carol Alt's awful book and then this one. This one is a little better than Alt's, so I gave it 2 stars, but frankly, I do not believe that fasting for what, 2 weeks, is good. Especially not for kids and definitely not for anyone who participates in athletics--I find it really hard to believe that her son could participate in marathons while fasting.

It's just a little too much meditating ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Fun, Easy to Read, Eye-Opening!
Get this book. It will change your life. It is fun & easy to read. Well written. You will not get this information from your traditional doctors and pharmacists! LOL! Take control of your health, be good to yourself! Learn a new way of living. Eating food shouldn't make you feel sick, it should leave you feeling energized and happy. try it. you'll like it! I'm not 'raw' yet, but I am moving there. Her new book is also fantastic, "Green for Life". She is motivational and encouraging.
