Editorial Review:Lela Buckingham and Maribeth Flaws have developed the most comprehensive text available for the study of molecular diagnostics in the clinical laboratory setting. "Molecular Diagnostics" will give your students the background they need to understand the principles behind diagnostic tests that use molecular techniques. With its grounding in molecular biology and emphasis on the fluid nature of this topic as improved diagnostic technologies emerge, this text is the perfect balance between theory and application.

An excellent tool in preparaton for Molecular Pathology Registry Exam.
Globally covers all areas of Molecular Pathology taught in formal university
classrooms courses. Information is simply explained, concepts are easy to
grasp and has illustrations, tables, charts, and diagrams that reaches and
facilitates a better level of understanding. Don't sit for registry exam without
reviewing this text. "Great Stuff".
Respectively,

I bought this book for a Molecular Diagnostics course for an MT/CLS progam. Although I've had some previous education in DNA, etc. . . I was new to most of the concepts in the book. I found it easy to read and very understandable. My only real complaint is that THERE'S NO GLOSSARY in this book. To me, that's a major oversight.

This is not for those of us who are new to the topic. Too much information, not enough explanation. If you are required to purchase it for a course get something else to supplement the first three chapters on DNA and RNA.

Pretty decent book, goes over most concepts of molecular diagnostics, PCR, FISH, RT-PCR, molecular beacons, FRET, etc. Fairly easy to understand. Could do a better job in some places. Used in a Molecular Diagnostics - Human Genetics course in CLS/MT Program.
