Editorial Review: With its focus on clinical relevance, this quick reference for students and health care practitioners, who provide direct patient care in diverse settings, meets an emerging need for information regarding nursing care for cross-culturally diverse populations. It will boost the confidence of students who feel uncomfortable dealing with those from a cultural background different than their own. It provides a summary of issues to be aware of, including cultural variations regarding personal space, dietary preferences, activities of daily living, communication, symptom management, activities of daily living, religious and health practices. Written in outline format, it focuses on clinically relevant information for each culture discussed.
