This direct-to-video sequel in the Addams Family series stars a winning pair of actors as the everlasting lovers Morticia and Gomez Addams: Daryl Hannah and Tim Curry. Most of the rest of the cast is new, as well. The story concerns the distinct possibility that Grandma and Grandpa Addams are turning normal, so the entire family goes to an Addams reunion in hopes of finding a witch doctor who can help. The film is entertaining largely because of the instant-recognition factor of Addams shtick. Curry and Hannah are good, but the whole production has an obvious, scaled-back feeling about it, probably to accommodate the limits of video and a small budget. --Tom Keogh

Rating: out of 5 stars - Better than most people think.
I admit that I was slightly dissapointed when I watched this movie. The fact that there were different actors and actresses took awhile to get used to, but they were better than I expected. Tim Curry was actually a very good Gomez, apart from his attempt to sound Spanish. Daryl Hannah was a wonderful Morticia, accept for the fact that the person who tweezed her eyebrows did a very bad job. Wednesday was not the same, Christina Ricci portrayed her part alot better, but she was an okay Wednesday. As ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Not Boring, Not a Waste of Time
This movie was not boring but not a waste of time. I can't rate it above 2 stars, that being the standard for mediocrity. It even picked up the ball dropped by the 80s version, but this is not the classic Addams family from TV. The ill fated cartoon made them the subject of h igh camp and racisl prejudice. Tim Curry as Gomez gives it that made for TV horror feel, but Darryl Hanna as Morticica doesn't get that sultry but elegant, still sexy look for an older woman. For wanting Addams right here right ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Ah, what could have been....
This is one of those movies that's really hard for me to rate. Much of what has been said in earlier reviews is accurate; the slapstick humor, almost nonexistent script, and obvious CGI really detract from the movie. In fact, this was a pilot for the Fox Family channel's "New Addams Family" TV series, and that tells you most of what you need to know about this movie.

What's heartbreaking is that, as appallingly bad as this movie was, the few bright spots are REALLY bright. Tim Curry as ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Not as good as the first movie, but it does have the original cast, which is always a plus
The problem with sequels is you have to have deep characters that will bring the audience back for the interesting twists and turns the character will take, and making the audience care enough to return to see what happens. However, with characters that are really born from a serial newspaper cartoon how deep can they be? I did like it, not as much as the first one, lets hope this will be the last sequel. Not to be nasty but I couldn't decide who was prettier Uncle Fester or his Bride. Enjoy!

Rating: out of 5 stars - Don't let the other amateur reviewers scare you off
Luckily, I didn't listen to them because my daughter and I found a film we truly enjoyed enough to watch several times in one week. If you are not wedded to the previous actors playing the parts, you will find that this cast performs admirably. I was particularly taken with the performance of Tim Curry as Gomez: humorous, charming, and romantic--just like Gomez should be. (I am a big fan of Tim Curry's but have not liked all of his film performances. This one is very good.) Addams Family is meant ... Read More
