Editorial Review:
Now in its updated Third Edition, BRS Pathology is an excellent preparatory review for course exams or the USMLE Step 1. Chapters parallel most standard pathology texts and each chapter ends with a review test. Topics covered include general and basic pathology, major concepts of disease processes, and systemic pathology surveying principal disorders of each organ system. A comprehensive examination at the end of the book contains 500 USMLE-format questions. USMLE questions have all been updated to current USMLE format. The text is written in outline format for effective review. Icons indicate high-yield information that correlates with key pathology concepts.

Rating: - Great BRS
This BRS Pathology is a great tool to have. Tells with mild depth about each pathologic disease that is important to know about and worry oneself about.
Rating: - Essential Review Book for HIGHScore on Step 1
An upper classman of mine who scored very high on step 1 revealed to me that he read BRS Pathology many times over during his preparation for Step 1. My game plan was to emulate his study regimen so that I could also score high.

Rating: - Don't use for Step 1
This is a good book for class and helping to pick up a few key words for each disease, but it does not explain anything. Details are lacking. If you want to get through path in 2-3 days, this is your book. If you want to know path, get something else.
Rating: - Amazing
This book is a godsend--it was my best friend, my baby during 2nd year and for the Boards. I can't praise it enough. It had just enough information in it about everything that I needed, it was an excellent basis for pathology for the Boards. Supplement with a Robbins Path Book if you want extensive detail (and for the great pictures in Robbins!) and you'll be set.
Rating: - Very complete
Concise material that covers all the bases. Good tables for quick recap, and Q & A's are good for studying when pressed for time.
