Editorial Review: Although she still prays for Caleb, Nellie Mae Fisher has broken up with her beau. Now, her heart's greatest longing is for more knowledge of the Lord. Caleb yearns for freedom, as his plans to leave Honeybrook have been thwarted. He must stay on as caretaker for his father, who was crippled in a wintertime accident. He also longs for Nellie Mae, still hoping that she will return to the Old Order...and to him. Christian Yoder, a young Mennonite man, longs to get to know Nellie Mae better...and to share with her the secrets of her sister Suzy's final days. Rhoda, Nellie's older sister, longs for more of what the world has to offer--from fancy clothes, to her own car, to a new English boyfriend. Meanwhile, father Reuben Fisher longs for unity--among his family and all the brethren. Whose longing will be satisfied, and whose will not?

Rating: - Wonderful conclusion
This book was a wonderful conclusion to this series. It kept me interested and even guessing all the way to the end.
Rating: - Longing for "The Longing"
Like many Beverly Lewis fans, I spent months "longing" for the ending to her newest series, "The Courtship of Nellie Fisher." The final book, "The Longing," does not disappoint. Although most of the conflicts developed in the first two books come to predictable resolutions, it's the journey Bev takes us on that keeps the reader turning the pages. As in all her books, the characters become living, breathing people that the reader either falls in love with, doesn't trust, or some times doesn't like. ... Read More
Rating: - MORE THAN JUST A TALE OF PENNSYLVANIA FARMS AND AMISH FOLK
Beverly Lewis packs much more than a romantic Amish story into this book #3 of her "Courtship of Nellie Fisher" series called "The Longing." For sure and for certain! Yes there is Beverly's delightful way of expressing the wants, lives, emotions, and events of the Amish community. It is a peaceful existence compared to most of our lives, except for that nasty mule kick that Caleb's father takes to the head. Will it change the divisions in the local Amish church community? Even in the slower paced, ... Read More
Rating: - The finale'
The third installment and final book of the Nelie Mae Fisher story. The ending was somewhat predictable, but none-the-less entralling. As with each novel before, I was unable to put this book down.
This trilogy was a great story about an Amish family and the struggles and highlights of faith.
Was a great read!
Rating: - Another Satisfying Amish Tale
Beverly Lewis specializes in writing stories set in Pennsylvania's Amish country, and the final entry in her Courtship of Nellie Fisher trilogy brings us closure on another set of well-written Christian fiction. Lewis has found her niche in the book industry, and she fills it very well with entirely readable novels that take you to another place and mind-set.
Nellie Mae Fisher has been separated from her beau Caleb when her new religious convictions come between the two lovers and their families. ... Read More
