Editorial Review:
IS THIS YOUR CHILD? These are the major symptoms of potentially unrecognized allergies. Does your child suffer from any of the following? Allergic Nose Rub Eye Circles Red Ears Red Cheeks Eye Wrinkles Aggression Lack of Alertness Mottled Tongue
In this breakthrough book, Dr. Doris Rapp offers a simple yet effective approach to handling "problem" children. Is This Your Child? shows parents how to identify the common foods, chemicals, or common allergic substances that could be the culprits that cause some children or adults to feel unwell or act inappropriately. If your child is always sick, hyperactive, a slow learner, or cranky, the first question you should ask is not "What drug should be prescribed?" or "What have I done wrong as a parent?" Instead, find out the cause. Dr. Rapp gives sensible suggestions about how these reactions to foods and environmental factors can be recognized, prevented, and treated. With this information, many affected children should feel, act, behave, and learn better. If you can detect unsuspected environmental illness in your child--or yourself--you can change your lives so you're more content, happy, and free of illness.

Rating: - Yes, It Was My Child!
I read this book many years ago when my now 14 year old son was an infant. As a baby he exhibited odd behaviors, cried most of the time, and had horrible tantrums. He had frequent ear infections and I was reluctant to continue prescribing antibiotics for fear they would destroy his immune system. It was very difficult to parent him and I was left exhausted, lonely, and desperate to find the cause of his problems. I found this book and began reading it in the bookstore; I was very emotional because ... Read More
Rating: - Considered the bible on allergies
I liked this book because it explains that allergies are so much more than sneezing and a runny nose. For children it can be fatigue, inability to concentrate, hyperactivity, really just about anything. She shows amazing examples of how artwork and writing change after a child is exposed to an allergen. She tells incredible stories of how children's behaviors change as they get their allergies under control.
I was pleased to hear from an expert that the scratch tests are wildly inaccurate, ... Read More

I thought I would get many pages of images of eyes -- but instead I got pyscho jumble text that is useless.

My mom always knew that something was bothering me but she couldn't figure it out. Doctors didn't help her. When I was 8 I started to feel really sick and get headaches every day. I didn't want to go to school anymore. My mom used this book to do the elimination diet on me and it turned out that wheat was bothering me. We later found out that I have Celiac disease. I never had any of the regular symptoms. My mom was tested and she has Celiac disease too. I am 10 now and on the honor roll at school. ... Read More
