Having been a medical transcriptionist for over 40 years and a nurse for 11, I found all of Stedman's word books to be exceptionally helpful. They are great student resources as well. The books are in the characteristic alphabetical order. Each book is unique to its practice. Surgery is a very difficult subject to transcribe, and this book has helped me find that oh-so-difficult word or term needed to complete a report. This book references things in the oddest of all ways. It is difficult to find words here that are normally used surgical words. I am told that Tessier's surgical word book is much better even though copyrighted in 1991. I am sure it could not be worse than this book!
