This book started me on a path to healing myself. It is a great way to begin to see the unifying principals between major religions. The most important thing for me is that it can help with some introspective self diagnosis of what is ailing you physically and spiritually. I would easily consider this book to be a foundation to start your exploration of the chakra system.
