As a Counselor Educator and Counseling Psychologist, I feel that "Issues and Ethics In the Helping Professions" is one of the most nicely organized and well-written texts on counseling ethics ever written. I cannot think of another text I would choose over it to teach ethics to developing counselors. This text serves as an excellent source for the overview of ethical issues in counseling and related fields, as well as a guide to further reading. This book was required in my graduate psychology ethics course, and I found it to be extremely helpful. Covers such topics as confidentiality, multiple relationships, diversity issues, and personal values as they relate to the counseling profession. Extremely helpful were the pre-chapter self-inventories for each topic, which give you a chance to think about what is written after them from your own frame of reference.
