Editorial Review: The second edition is designed to help allied health professionals keep their focus, make connections, and improve their overall understanding of the anatomy and physiology they need to succeed in the field. Each chapter is written and developed into manageable modules of content that place a conceptual order on the facts and terminology. Relevant clinical stories draw readers in, keep them connected to the content and provide the platform for developing critical thinking skills. The focused narrative is accompanied by outstanding illustrations that help allied health professionals learn key concepts.

Rating: - Book NOT recommended
I am inclined to disagree with the instructor whose post precedes mine. I would actually describe this text exactly opposite from what this instructor said, and I will describe why, and will include many other drawbacks as well.

Rating: - A Fresh Approach to Anatomy and Physiology
Gail Jenkins and Christopher Kemnitz have taken Tortora's Anatomy and Physiology in an unexpected and most welcome direction. This text emphasizes clinical physiology for allied health students with a case-study approach. Having taught many thousands of students enrolled in Human Anatomy and Physiology classes and used many different texts, I appreciate this very powerful and clinically relevant text for students on allied health tracks.
