This definitive guide, revised and updated with over 25% new material, empowers cancer patients and their loved ones to move beyond their disease. Greg Anderson, a cancer survivor, has designed this book for the recently diagnosed, those with recurring symptoms, and those who are well but have a lingering fear that the disease may strike again.

Informative and inspiring, Cancer: 50 Essential Things to Do goes hand-in-hand with the patient's medical treatment and is an invaluable roadmap to recovery. Filled with practical, healing "action steps" that have been used by thousands of cancer survivors, the revised edition also contains important new information--including recently approved medical treatment options, updated cancer research, and Internet resources--geared toward making sense of the fast-changing world of cancer treatment and recovery.

* Preface by Kenneth Cooper, M.D., M.P.H.
* Foreword by O. Carl Simonton, M.D.

"Expert instruction and loving encouragement--the wisdom of someone who has made the journey from near death to a healed life."--Bernie Siegel, M.D.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Best Cancer book...
For anyone facing the big C or anyone with a relative in the same bandwagon, this is the best, most uplifting and practical book to get. It will give you advice, nutrition guidelines that help and most importantly, how to battle the depression that may arise. Get it!

Rating: out of 5 stars - Cancer, 50 Essential things to do
Somewhat helpful, mostly things I had previously read in other books. But it was interesting and did keep my attendion. I did gain some knowledge that I have put in place in my treatment and am finding it helpful.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Helpful cancer book
This book was easy to read and gave definite things to do to stay healthy and be a long term survivor.
It is especially good for people who first receive the diagnosis of cancer.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Five stars!
Living where "cancer" is an everyday word has made me perhaps a bit sensitive when I hear it in the real world and how it is being used. I was pleasantly surprised by this book as not just another soother. It actually touches reality. Makes cancer real and beatable. It makes you realize you're not alone, that there are resources out there as well as information available if you take the time to read it. This book has a great summary of everthing and I recommend it to my newly diagnosed patients. ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - For Cancer Patients, Not Caregivers
I bought this book after my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer, hoping that it would give me guidance on important issues I need to address. I was disappointed that this book did not meet my needs. The book could be helpful for building hope and self confidence for patients, but as a caregiver, I found it useless.
