The first in a new mystery series starring art-forger-Gone-good Annie Kincaid Annie breaks the news to her curator ex-boyfriend Ernst: his museum's new $15 million Caravaggio is a fake. Then the janitor is killed, Ernst disappears, and a dealer makes off with several Old Master drawings. If she breaks the case using her old connections, Annie can finally pay the rent. But doing so could also draw her back into the underworld of forgers she swore she'd left behind.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Forgers, Thieves, and Murderers. What Great Company!
Annie Kincaid grew up at the feet of her grandfather, famous art forger Georges LeFleur. She learned the art of forgery herself, but after a run in with the law, she tried to put that behind her. Now, she runs a faux finishing studio in San Francisco.

But her past comes back to her when ex-boyfriend Ernst Pettigrew asks her to authenticate a Caravaggio painting. Not only does Annie recognize it as a forgery, but she recognizes the painting as the work of Anton, a friend of her grandfather. ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Exceptionally entertaining
I read about 5 mysteries a month and I was looking for a good read to keep me distracted until I could get ahold of the next Joanne Fluke book in the Hannah series. This book was so engaging that I now searching to find out what happens next with Annie Kincaid...Hannah can wait!

Rating: out of 5 stars - Hard to put down
Great insider information about museums and the art forgery world. Fast paced and fun. Quirky characters.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Give it a go
Right out of the gate, this book is fun. The main character, Annie Kincaid, is likeable, smart and down-to-earth. Her grandfather is a hoot. There are lots of laugh-out-loud moments. From the get-go Annie's life is turned on its ear and it just keeps getting worse. Annie frantically tries to: figure out who killed her friend, not do anything too illegal, stay alive, keep her business, get a straight answer from her grandfather, do her job without revealing its criminal underpinnings, all while trying to deal ... Rating: out of 5 stars - Another Great Art Lover's Mystery
This is another great mystery for those who are interested in Art History or Art Collection. Set in San Francisco, one my my favorite cities, Annie Kincaid has quite a bit of work to bury a past riddled in scandal, thanks to an uncle who is an art forger. Annie got enough education from her uncle to open her own business creating faux artwork, and does quite well, if she can just stay out of trouble. This book provides a great snapshot of the world of art theft and forgery, with plenty of shady characters to ... Read More
