It's a story about children who befriend a lonely, old man whose arthritis has deprived him of his career as a world-renowned cellist. Predictably, the old man teaches the children lessons about life, associating memories with "music in the heart." This story shows children that older adults are not what they seem to be at first glance. It is a lovely story of old Charlie. Thechildren in his neighborhood dare each other to go and talk with him. The outcome of this game the children play is wonderful! I really think this is an excellent story for pre-schoolers and younger school children. It teaches them to be kind to older adults for these older folk DO really matter!
