I read many books on colic and sleep habits when my son had severe colic between the ages of 3 weeks and 9.5 weeks. Weissbluth's theory was right on target, "Sleep begets sleep." His timelines for the start and end of colic were also very accurate. We followed his advice and our child began sleeping through the night at 5 weeks, his colic ended at 9.5 weeks, and he is now 2 and sleeps 12 hours a night straight. (Has been for over a year.)
