This book has a little bit of everything kids see on Sesame Street: Letter of the Day (with Cookie Monster), Number of the Day, Global Grover, Journey to Ernie, Spanish Word of the Day, the Street Story, and Elmo’s World. Each segment of the show is represented by one or two spreads that are chock-full of fun. The artwork for the segments is rendered in a mix of styles integrated into a pleasing whole. Grover is your host as he takes you through an "episode" of Sesame Street. He asks your child to turn the pages and listen as he takes you through the different segments such as "Journey to Ernie" and "Elmo's World". It is a very neat book that reminds me a lot of an old favorite written when I was a child "Monster at the End of This Book" which also included Grover.

Ms. nearly-2 is a big Sesame Street fan,and likes the pictures. But there is too much text on each page for reading out loud - she gets impatient before I can finish the page. Probably this book will be good when her attention span is a few years older.

My daughter picked this book out herself in the bookstore because she was attracted to the colorful cover with all the Sesame Street gang. Since then, she asks me to read it to her all the time. She loves turning the pages and finding the different illustrations and styles on each page. She loves reading this book more than watching the show! My son is a huge Sesame Street fan. He loves this book and will perform it with all the voices of the characters. It is a great book with segments just like the real show. I especially like the segment about Elmo and Zoe. These 2 best friends have a disagreement and later make up by cooperating. Cookie Monster is in the book doing his usual devouring of confections.
