Editorial Review:IN THE GOD’S HANDSFive friends continue their desperate search for Princess Sakura’s memories, which have been scattered across parallel worlds in the form of magically potent feathers. But this time Syaoran and Sakura are pulled from a tumultuous land where two factions battle over a statue of the God of Calamity–and into the realm of that very god! Now they find themselves on one side of a long, bloody conflict between two gods and their minions. Unfortunately the experienced fighters in their band, Fai and Kurogane, seem to be aligned with the opposition. In a war where the only ending is the death of a god, how can Syaoran and Sakura hope to stay alive?

The story of Ashura and Yasha always fascinated me and in this setting especially. The fights were beautifully drawn, as usually, and the cliffhanger ending would have made me want to scream and yell if I hadn't had the next volume in the series at hand already.

This volume was relatively interesting because it revealed some important plot points. You also get a lot more character development (most prominently for Sakura and Syaoran). I wasn't a huge fan of the way the gender separated world worked, but the story elements are wonderful and keep you engaged through most of this excellent volume.

I am still a little confused and am getting used to the series. The second volume was better for me, but I grew to love XXXHolic so I'm giving this one a chance.

This volume of Tsubasa contains two very different but good story arcs.
First up is a light yet somehow disturbing mini-arc in which the gang encounters a village of giant singing and dancing bunnies (yes, really) who claim they need to burn a sacrifice to protect them from a destructive entity. The gang kindly offers to investigate and solve the problem, but the bunnies refuse to let them leave without a hostage in case they still have to go through with the sacrifice. ... Read More

The gang's journey continues as they press on to their second dimension together in this entry of Tsubasa.
This time, their surroundings are a bit more sinister as they end up in a land oppressed and terrorized by an evil ruler with a suspicious source of magic. Normally this would be a job for Fai, but since the magician can't use his magic per his payment to Yuko the companions are going to have to use their wits to find a way to foil the magician-ruler without magic of their own. ...
