Rating: - Amazon Needs to be clear about what they advertise!
I ordered Intro To Stats (My MathStatlab series) Thinking that I ordered the text book, brand new with the access code, included... Then when the order arrives, I only received a text book, with no access code. Amazon, make certain, that if you advertise this book as (MyStatlab) that there is also an access code included. I feel ripped off paying nearly $120.00 for my text book, and then needing to pay an additional $57.00 for an access code at the website. I contacted Pearson directly and they stated ... Read More

The book itself is a wonderful learning tool and I have found nothing wrong with it or the CD. However, when purchasing the "new" book from Amazon.com I assumed that it also came with the online access codes for other material that the publishers have made available. However, I was sadly mistaken and after waiting for my book to arrive and then calling the publisher to get an access code I still had to go and buy the access online, costing me an additional $57 on top of what I had already spent on the ... Rating: - Problems with ActivStats CD
I bought three brand new books with CDs from Amazon.com. The first CD was blank. The second CD was chipped and embedded in the book binding. The third CD was also blank. I mailed the books/CDs back to Amazon the same day so I know I wasn't sent the same blank CD.
I gave up on Amazon and ordered the book through Barnes and Noble and picked it up today. The CD in this fourth book is also blank. I plan on returning it tomorrow.
I have ordered a fifth book from Borders.

The authors are hugely prepared, both as far as the statistical concepts and methods are concerned, but also with respect to instruction. They have learned what to do, and what not to do; they have made difficult concepts as simple as is they can (remembering Einstein's great principle: every explanation ... Read More

For a statistics text book, much less any text book, this one is an easy read. The CD-ROM that allows you to have interaction with the information is also helpful; however, it is difficult to always get help from the chapter info to answer the practice problems.
